SACKETT, Bridget Christina, 46, of Alpena, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 following a brief illness.

Bridget was born March 9, 1962 in Ballymena, Ireland to Desmond and Maureen (Savage) Locke. She danced with the Royal Academy for a number of years, and was a cosmetologist in England. Bridget married Carl Sackett on May 14, 1988 in England where he served in the US Air Force, then returning with him and living in Iosco County for two years before moving to Alpena, where she has lived the last six years. Carl preceded her in death on March 25, 2002. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Jesus Junkies prayer group and served as Program Coordinator for After Five- a women’s Christian group, and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post #2496. Bridget was always full of life and energy, enjoyed spending time outdoors, and loved celebrating holidays, especially the 4th of July. She was an assistant teacher for the Building Blocks day care center, where all the children loved her, a former employee of Alpena Travel Agency and operated her own travel agency, Calypso Vacations. The most important thing is Bridget’s life was her son, Declan.
