Was Chief Engineer of the Wilmington & Susquehanna Rail Road and Superintendant of Construction of the Baltimore & Ohio Rail Road.

In June 1834, patented the pneumatic breast pump.

Second wife was Sarah B Briggs, daughter of Isaac & Hannah Briggs.

Died at "Sharon".
