Thomas G. Vaughan aged 48, of 908 Wilmington Ave, died at the Shenango Valley hospital Saturday at 9:35p.m. of a complication of diseases and after an extended illness.
Mr. Vaughan was born in Youngstown OH., April 1, 1878, the son of George (d. 11 Jul 1921) and Rosanna Vaughn (d. 25 Aug 1909). He had been a resident of this city for fourteen years, being employed as a foreman of the Roll Shop at the Carnegie Steel plant.
He had been married twenty three years, his wife being Edna W. Morris. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian church of this city. Mr. Vaughan was a veteran of the Spanish American war, having served in the Philippine Islands in Company, 32nd United States Volunteer Infantry. He was a member of the Daniel Leasure Camp, United American Spanish war Veterans, Youngstown Lodge No. 403, I.O.O.F.; Governor Tod Lodge No. 7 Golden eagles; Maccabee Lodge of Youngstown, O.B.P.O.E No. 69 of this city.
He leaves his wife and three children, Dorothy, Robert and Thomas Vaughan Jr. and the following brothers and sisters. Mrs. Fred Auer, Cleveland, OH. Ward F., Warren H. and Helen Vaughan of Youngstown, OH. Cylon and Edward Vaughan of Miami, FL. Mrs. John Patterson and Mrs. Bradley Haught of East Liverpool, OH. and Ernest Vaughan of Los Angeles, CA.
Funeral services were held this afternoon from the family residence 908 Wilmington Ave. with Rev. S.e. Irvine and Rev. Samuel Maitland in charge. Burial was made in Youngstown, OH.
*Parents (George and Rosanna) from England in 1878, spelling of last name Vaughn, Thomas used it interchangeably by adding an "a" at times. Thomas and Edna's children all are spelled "Vaughan".
