Red Adair was best known for putting out oil well fires "blowouts" around the world. He was portrayed in the movie "Hellfighters" by John Wayne. His biggest challenge came when he was hired to extinguish the Kuwait oil well fires after the Gulf War in 1991. His company managed to extinguish 542 oil well fires in 3 months. He received Presidential recommendations from Lyndon B. Johnson, Jimmy Carter, and George Bush. (bio by: Skip)
