Dr. G. J. Bucknell, Who Came Here in 1856, Dies at Lane Hospital
Dr. George J. Bucknell of 1121 Laguna street, one of the oldest and best known physicians of San Francisco, died at the Lane hospital yesterday at the age of 71. He had undergone a serious operation and did not recover from the shock.
Dr. Bucknell came to San Francisco in 1856 and had been a resident of this city since that time. He was a graduate of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York. He married Mary E. Davis, a step daughter of Eugene L. Sullivan, the California pioneer. the widow and two children, Mrs. Fred Marriott and Mrs. M. Jardine, survive."
