PAUL COOPER of the Avalon Community, a retired Railway Agent and Postmaster of Avalon, died late Saturday night in the Stephens County Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Cooper was born in Stephens County, a son of the late Rev. W. A. Cooper and Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Payne Cooper. He was a member of Confidence Methodist Church, a Deacon and a Steward.
Survivors include 1 sister, Miss Margaret Cooper of the home; 1 niece, Miss Ruth McBath of Avalon; 3 nephews, ralph McBath, W. C. McBath, both of Avalon, J. B. McBath of Bradenton, FL.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 Monday from the Mathews Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Charles W. Davis and Rev. Ryan Seawright officiating. Burial followed in the Confidence Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were, W. D. Sholar, Grady Bell, J. L. McBath, Daily Swilling, Anderson Crawford and Ollie Elrod.
Mathews Mortuary was in charge.
