CAUGHRON, KERMIT - age 86, of Cades Cove, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 5, 1999, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Cades Cove Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a farmer in Cades Cove. Preceded in death by: parents, George and Delia Caughron; brothers, Joe and Jay Caughron; great-grandson, Samuel Bradley Waters. Survivors: wife of 57 years, Lois Shuler Caughron; sons and daughters-in-law, Rex and Judy Caughron and Roy and Krista Caughron, all of Townsend; daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and John Davis of Walland, Kay and Mike McMahan of Maryville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; several cousins. Funeral services are at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Cummings and Rev. Jay Westbrooks officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999, in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
