The daughter of Daisy Ray she was born March 21, 1944, in Kirksville, Missouri. She graduated from the 8th grade in 1958. In 1959 a daughter, Tammy Lynn, from a previous marriage was born, in 1963 she was united in marriage to a country boy by the name of Charles "Charle" Branscomb. To this union a daughter, Eva Ann, was born. For many years she worked at the Glove Factory in Kirksville. After that she worked as a nurse for many years until she became a grandma on August of 1986 to Shauna Jolene. As she was watching Shauna grow up she became a room mother and a Girl Scout Leader. She became a great grandma in December 2005, again in 2008, and again in 2010. She loved reading and singing to them and watching them play.
She loved to pray and listen to Christian and Christmas music. She was a resident of Livonia, Missouri since 1963.
Marsha is survived by her husband, Charles Branscomb of Livonia, MO, one daughter, Tammy and husband Roy Merryfield of Grandview, MO, one sister, Thelma King of Brashear, MO, one brother, Bobby and wife Cheyle Nickles of Kirksville; an adopted daughter, Diane Steel of Ottumwa, IA; one granddaughter, Shauna Smith and husband Fredrick Shepherd of Livonia, Mo, two step grandchildren, Steven Merryfield and wife Cindy of Kansas City, MO and Marry Merryfield of Kansas City, MO, two great-grandchildren, Guy Shepherd and Charle Jacob Bentlee Riley Shepherd, three nieces, Kelli Durbin, Laural Santana and husband, and Carol Lee and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, daughter, Eva Ann Smith Veatch, and granddaughter, Jolene Nichole Shepherd.
Marsha was saved in the Button Church in rural Livonia at an early age and was a member of the Evangelistic Temple of Ottumwa, Iowa.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday June 26, 2012 in the Dooley Funeral Home, with Pastor David Winchester officiating. Interment will be in the Saint John's Cemetery in Livonia. Visitation will be from noon until time of service, Tuesday June 26, 2012 at the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, Missouri.
