Civil War Veteran Had Practiced Before Bar for Last Fifty Years.
Daniel H. Twomey, former member of the state legislature of North Dakota, and for 10 years a practicing attorney for this city, and senior member of the law firm Twomey & Twomey, died Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence, S209 Walnut Street.
His is survived by his wife, to whom he was married 52 years ago, and a daughter, Mrs. W. L. Antes, of this city, two sons, H.G. of this city, his law partner and W.K. of Chicago. The funeral services will be held from the First Presbyterian church at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon. Dr. Sherman L. Divine will officiate assisted by Dr. John Snape. Burial will be at Greenwood.
In August, 1906, he came to Spokane, seeking to improve his health. He practiced law for over 50 years.
He saw federal naval service during the civil war, having enlisted at Lafayette, Ind., and served on the federal gunboat "Ram Hornet" under Captain Godlove S. Orth, which patrolled the Mississippi river.
He was an active church and Sunday school worker since his youth and served as superintendent of the Sunday school in the largest Presbyterian churches in Fargo and Davenport, Iowa.
