For twelve seasons (1979 to 1991), he played at the center and forward positions in the National Basketball Association with the Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Miami Heat and Utah Jazz. Born Patrick Michael Cummings, he attended Johnstown High School (Pennsylvania) and played collegiate basketball at the University of Cincinnati. Following the conclusion of his collegiate career, he found himself among the school's all-time greats in multiple basketball statistics. Selected by Milwaukee during the 3rd round of the 1978 NBA Draft, he appeared in 683 regular season games, compiling 6,529 points with 3,825 total rebounds. He yielded two consecutive seasons in which he topped the 1,000 points mark (1,014 in 1982-1983 and 1,045 in 1983-1984) both with Dallas. He was inducted into the James P. Kelly University of Cincinnati Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990. (bio by: C.S.)
