My GRANDMA a VERY SPECIAL HUMAN WHO LIVED ON THIS PLANET!
Vera married Frank Maassen Jan. 17, 1933, at Kuntz Memorial Church, in Omaha NE. My Grandpa told me, "I married your Grandma on my birthday so she could be my gift."
Vera and Frank Maassen had 4 children:
Vaneeta Mae, who married Alfio (Fred) Nigro, and they had 4 kids: Gino, Tina, Freddy, Sammy.
Betty Ann, who married Carlos Hecht, and they had 3 kids: Cindy, Charles, Wendy.
Barbra Lee, who married Fred Martin, and they had 4 kids: Larry, Vicki, Jerry, Jeff; and then Barbara Lee, married Bob Smith, and they had a daughter Bobbi.
Frank William Maassen, who married Pam Graves, and they had 3 kids: Stephanie, Danny, Loni.
Vera Maassen parents were: Amos (Roy) and Grace Bolio Schwinderman.
My grandma loved to cook, bake, and sew. She made the best birthday cakes with ice cream in them, much better than those cakes at the Dairy Queen. When we were little kids she made popcorn balls with little prizes in the middle of them. My grandma was always hugging us kids when we were little and I always thought that was weird, but now I miss those HUGS! Vera always wore aprons when she cooked or worked in the house.
