Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday, November 23, at M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Reverend Dr. William K. Neely. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, SC. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Friday night at M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Turner was born in Valdosta, GA on October 21, 1917, a son of the late General Lee Turner and the late Lora Mae Dasher Turner. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and retired as District Sales Manager with FW Woolworth Co. and then operated Ford's Five and Ten. He was a rural route carrier in Clover for the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Tuner was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Colleen Thomas Turner of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra T. and Ernie Mills of Charlotte, Judy T. and Mark Anthony of Collinsville, VA, Gloria J. Turner of Charlotte and Deborah K. Turner of Charleston, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Elliott L. and Susan Turner, Jr. of Williamston, NC and Andrew T. and Bobbie Turner of Bedford, VA; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Shirley Turner of Lake City, FL; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
M. L. Ford and Sons Funeral Home, Clover, SC, is serving the family of Mr. Turner. .
