Funeral services for James Clanton Shewmake, 75, of Holt, an iron molder by trade, who died yesterday at his home, were to be held at 3 p.m. today at Jones-Spigener Chapel with the Rev. Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park.
The active pallbearer will be Buddy, Billy and Jerry Robbins, Robert Snyder, Billy Turner and P. Shewmake.
Honorary pallbearers were to be be J. Paul Singleton, Hubert Scoggins, Ike Boone, E. A. Dean, Mr. Mays Wright Snyder, Mr. Matthews, Henry Sanders, J. R. Locke, Vernon Riffe, Dr. A. W. Patton, Dr. O. L. Jordan, Dr. J. C. Guin, Claud Ryan and Jewell Rogers.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Mary Shewmake; five daughters, Mrs. Paul Ralston and Mrs. Arthur Robbins of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. Samuel Kilishek, of Dunellten, N. J., Mrs. Roy Ryan, of Holt, and Mrs. Watson Crawford of Columbus, Ga., two sons, C. P. and Joseph Shewmake of Holt; three sisters, Mrs. Sam McAllister of Piedmont, Ala., Misses Belle and Laura Shewmake of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
