Funeral services have been tentatively set for two o'clock Monday afternoon in Saron Evangelical Free Church for Edgar E. Haaland, who died early Wednesday morning in the local hospital. Officiating at the funeral will be Edward Kimball, pastor of Saron Church, and A. E. Nyquist, pastor of Bethlehem Evangelical Free Church of Cooperstown. Burial will be in the Westley Church Cemetery. Mr. Haaland was born March 25, 1876 in Stavanger, Norway, and came to LeRoy, Minn., with his mother in 1887. There they joined his father, who came to this country two years earlier.
The family moved to the Cooperstown vicinity in 1895. In 1899 Mr. Haaland married Hannah Herigstad at the Haaland farm. They moved into Cooperstown in 1945.
He is survived by his wife: three sons, Perry of Cooperstown, Clarence of Fargo and Willard of Stanfield, Ore., and a daughter, Hazel, of Cooperstown, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death. He is also survived by three brothers, Swen and Christ of Cooperstown and Carl of Arlington, Wash., and four sisters, Mrs. Christine Miller of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Johann (Mary) Watne, Cooperstown, Mrs. Emma Anderson, Heppner, Wash., and Mrs. Gina Ballou, Estigata, Oregon.
