Funeral services were held Sunday for Ingval Aarestad, who died in Colorado Springs, Colorado, November 23. He was 67 years of age.
In late October of this year Mr. and Mrs. Aarestad had gone to Colorado Springs to spend the winter with the daughter, but he became ill shortly after arrival. He underwent surgery there and died a week later.
Pastor Sanford Soma and Pastor A. Storey of Mayville officiated at the funeral service, which was held in Zion Lutheran Church.
Ingval Gerhard Aarestad was born July 26, 1887 in Griggs county, North Dakota, the son of Endre and Anna Aarestad. He grew to manhood here and farmed in this area several years before going to Everett, Washington, where the family lived for 10 years.
In November 1914 he married Miss Ida Berg of Hannaford. They had five daughters, one of whom died in infancy. Mr. Aarestad is survived by Mrs. Aarestad and four daughters, Mrs. Orville (Marion) Bakken, Northwood; Mrs. Olaf (Eileen) Jorde, Ulen, Minn.; Mrs. Howard (Carol) Stromme, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Alvin (Evelyn) Miller, Binford; eight grandchildren, five brothers, Hans, Salmon Arm, B. C., Canada; Torkel, Jamestown; John, McHenry; Elmer, Aneta, and Casper of Cooperstown.
Mr. Aarestad was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and the daughter.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
