Hardin D Wilson (sometimes spelled Harden) was born in Mississippi to Hardin B. Wilson and his wife Mary. Her maiden name is currently unknown. In Union County, Arkansas he married Mississippi native Elida Catoe on 7 Nov 1841 and they had one son, Seaborne Wilson born in 1844 in Louisiana.
Hardin married Mary Caroline McDonnal in Cherokee County, East Texas on 19 Feb 1849. Together they raised his son Seaborne and had an additional twelve children.
Hardin D. Wilson died on 18 Aug 1876 in Lewisville, Denton County, Texas. In Dec of that year his widow had her 12th child by Wilson. Mary Caroline Wilson then moved her family to Wise County. The exact burial spot of Hardin in Denton County is unknown.
Several forks of the Trinity River were damned in the 30's to create water supplies for Ft. Worth and Dallas and cemeteries were moved and combined. He is known to have been buried beside his namesake Hardin D. Wilson Junior who died in July 1864.
