Actress, Singer. She was best known for playing the character roles of mothers, landladies, maids, and housewives, in both silent films and sound films. She will be best remembered for playing the role of 'Minna Meyers' in the mystery film, "Fog" (1933). The film which was directed by Albert S. Rogell, which was written for the screen by Ethel Hill and Dore Schary, which was based on a story by Dorothy Rice Sims, and which also starred Donald Cook, Mary Brian, and Reginald Denny, tells the story of several murders which are committed in swift succession on board an ocean liner crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a dense fog, and many of the passengers come under suspicion before the actual killer is brought to justice with the aid of a very substantial "ghost." She was born in Dessau, Germany, and later came to the United States to pursue an acting career. She appeared on Broadway in New York City, New York, in several stage productions of such plays as, 'Louise Dupont' in "Auction Pinochle" (Nov 23, 1912 -), and as 'The Maid' in "Tonight Or Never" (November 18, 1930, to June 1931). She made her actual film debut playing in the short German film, "Das Gleichgewicht" (1917). The film also starred Gisela Werbisek, Paul Mahr, and Richard Grossman.
