Cyrus Ralph McCullam, son of John and Allie McCullam, was born in Ogden, October 18, 1902; departed this life February 1, 1934, at the age of 31 years, 3 months and 13 days.
He leaves to mourn his death, his wife Mary, two sister, Mrs. Mary Hetro of Ogden, and Mrs. Blanche Tracy of Urbana; two brothers, William McCullam of Homer, and James McCullam of Van Nuys, Calif., and a host of friends.
His entire life was spent in this vicinity, except for the past few years spent in the West in search of health. Returning from Roswell, N. Mex., he entered the Outlook Sanitarium at Urbana October 13, 1933, where he remained a patient sufferer until the time of his death.
His body was brought to the Freese funeral home in Ogden and later was taken to the home of Mrs. Hetro, his sister, to await the funeral.
Funeral services were held from the Christian Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock and burial was made in Patterson Cemetery south of St. Joseph.
Rev. M. E. Lee, pastor of Ogden Christian Church, preached the funeral sermon and Mrs. Julian Wallace and Miss Mary Freese sang, with Miss Kathryn Hunter at the piana.
Escorts were Carl Leedy, Howard Manning, Ival Richards, Howard Freeman, Paule Mapes, and Melvin Esworthy. The flower bearers were Sallie adn Ruth Hetro, Mary Margaret Tracy, and Esther Ramert.
Among those who came from a distance to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. George Penrod and two daughters, of Libertyville, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Ferris and son, Champaign; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor, and Mrs. Maud Taylor, Urbana; Miss Betty Jenkins, Champaign; Mr. and Mrs. Cahrles Mapes, Mrs. Avery Jarrett, and Mrs. Nettie Zimmerman, St. Joseph; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thompson, Champaign.
