Rodman James "R. J." Sisson was the son of James Sisson and Hannah Baldwin. The family had migrated from McDonough, New York to Rockford, Winnebago, Illinois. He married Edna Ann Applebury 4 Dec 1854 in Chickasaw, Iowa. They had children: Harriet Ellen Sisson born in 1855, Sophronia "Frona" Sisson born in 1856, Charles Albert Sisson born in 1859, Emma Jane Sisson born in 1861, Maretta A. "Retta" Sisson born in 1865, Mary Etta Sisson born in 1868 and Ala M. Sisson born in 1876.
Harriet Ellen "Hattie" Sisson married James Oliver Swanger 21 Nov 1872 in Chickasaw, Iowa. They had children: Louis Melvin Oliver Swanger born in 1876, Ervin Earl Swanger born in 1880, Charles Albert Swanger born in 1882, Maude Edna Swanger born in 1885 and Edith Mae Swanger born in 1889.
Sophronia "Frona" Sisson married John Albert Young 2 Dec 1876 in Chickasaw, Iowa. They had children: Loren L. Young born in 1877, Lydia Young born in 1882, Carl Young born in 1885, Homer Guy Young born in 1887, Alva Lloyd Young born in 1894, Audrey Opal Young born in 1897 and Goldie Young born in 1900. This family lived in Oregon.
Charles Albert Sisson married Julia Ellen Webb in 1886 in Garfield County, Oklahoma. They had children: Sophronia C. Sisson born in 1887, Ira F. Sisson born in 1889, Nellie M. Sisson born in 1895. Marion Albert "John" Sisson born in 1899 and Lillie Sisson born in 1904.
Emma Jane Sisson married Samuel Mahaffey 26 Jul 1882 in Kansas. They had children: Ira Mahaffey born in 1883, Samuel Grant Mahaffey born in 1884, and Harvey Duncan Mahaffey born in 1887.
Mary Etta Sisson married Charles W. Webb 14 Jan 1885 in Concordia, Cloud, Kansas. They had children: Pearl E. Webb born 1885 and Marion J. Webb born in 1893.
Ala M. "Allie" Born 1876, she married Finley A. Dodds, they lived in Blue Rapids, Kansas, and they had a daughter Winifred.
Rodman James Sisson had siblings: Mary Ann Sisson who married Thomas Smith; Richard Pardon Sisson who married Clara A. Vail, and Thirzah Janes; Sarah Jane Sisson who married John Marselon Fales and Sophronia Hannah Sisson who married John Plants Vail.
Rodman James Sisson's grandparents were Richard Baldwin and Hannah Baldwin who migrated from Leicester, Worcester, Massachusetts to McDonough, Chenango, New York. His great grandparents were David Baldwin and Sarah Tucker of Leicester, Worcester, Massachusetts.
His grandfather Richard Baldwin had brothers Isaac, Daniel and Elijah who all migrated to McDonough, Chenango, New York. The Baldwin brothers owned a sawmill called "Baldwin Mill". They were instrumental in forming the town of McDonough, Chenango, New York. They all held town offices. They were also farmers and large landowners. Isaac Baldwin married Hannah Tucker. Daniel Baldwin married Mary Tracy. Elijah Baldwin married Elizabeth Brown.
Rodman James Sisson died at the White/Kellogg Home which was a healing center Sanitarium for the Seventh Day Adventists. Not sure if he was a Seventh Day Adventist or if he just went there for help.
