ABBOTT, Thomas J., 75, of Richmond, passed away May 11, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anne Britton Abbott; his twin children, daughter, Blair Abbott Mitchell and her husband, Brad; and son, Michael Abbott and his wife, Elizabeth. Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by two sisters, Rachel and Margaret; and is survived by a brother, Bob Abbott; and sister, Betty Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Abbott was a veteran of the U.S. Army. For the last 13 years, Tom has enjoyed taking care of the customers at Mooers Volvo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., where a funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday followed by interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad.
