Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at Hooper for Ira Lamb, 85, dean of Nebraska's schoolmen, who died Saturday at the home of a son, George Lamb, Wilmette, Illinois, with whom he had been living the past year.
Born at Des Moines, Iowa, Mr. Lamb came to Nebraska in 1883. His first school as a teacher was at Stuart, and he served at Alma, Central City and Nelson. Then he became a principal at Stanton and as principal and superintendent he had filled posts at Atkison (sic), University Place, Hooper, Papillion, Rockville, Sargent, Milford, Waterloo, Bennett, Denton and Kennard. – Hastings Tribune.
Mr. Lamb was at the head of Nelson High School in 1899.
