Mr. Mayfield was born in Mize, MS and has lived in the Metro area most of his life. He was a member of Sky Hills Baptist Church in Pearl, MS and was also a Masonic and York Rite Mason. Mr. Mayfield was a WWII veteran in the 69th Infantry of the 3rd Army. He retired as a 1st Sergeant with the Mississippi Army National Guard.
Mr. Mayfield is survived by his two sons, Joe W. Mayfield (Nita) and Jolly Mayfield (Donna) both of Brandon, MS; two sisters, Dorothy Kennedy of Magee, MS and LaVonne O'Neal of Madison, MS; three grandchildren, Micah, Chad and Blake Mayfield all of Brandon, MS and one great-grandchild, Hunter Mayfield of Brandon, MS.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Mayfield and his parents,
James Wilson and Lilly Mayfield of Mize, MS.
