Juanita Williams, a resident of Clinton from 1952 to 1990, died at the Ramona Villa Healthcare Center, Kansas City, at the age of 101. She was an active member of the Clinton United Methodist Church, United Church Women, and the Poly Credo Bible Study Club. Mrs. Williams was born in Forest City, and later lived in St. Joseph and Kansas City before moving to Clinton where her son-in-law, Richard C. Mahrle, was a partner in Home Furniture on the Square. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford D. Williams, in 1951. Her son Clifford D. Williams, Jr., was killed in action while serving with the Army Air Corps during World War II. Her son-in-law, Richard Mahrle, died in 1982 in Sacramento, California. Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Veronica "Roni" Mahrle, Fair Oaks, California; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Wallace Hoverder, Kansas City; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life in the chapel at Ramona Villa, Sunday afternoon, November 2, There will be graveside services later at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Glendale, California, where Mrs. Williams' husband and son are buried.
