LUBBOCK, TX — Charles R. "Bob" Davis, 87, a production engineer for Chevron for 35 years, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, at a Lubbock hospital.

Funeral services on Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Stephenville, TX, with Rev. J. Stewart Bell and Rev. Doug McLemore officiating. Cremation will follow with arrangements by Lacy Funeral Home.

Bob was born on May 13, 1921, to the late Joe Reed Davis and Winnie Mae Vann in Buffalo. He married Grace Davis on March 11, 1954, in Borger. She preceded him in death on June 1, 2005. Bob served in the Army during World War II. He served as a non-commissioned officer. While serving in the field, Bob was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. He graduated from The University of Texas in 1948. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Kate Holder and husband, Rick of South Lake and Amy Sophia Bell and husband, Chris of Lubbock; a son, Donald Reed Davis of Tulsa, Okla.; brother, Bill Davis and wife, Arnita of Jena, La.; and four grandchildren: Paul Reed Davis, Amanda Grace Bell, Charles Stewart Bell, and Nicholas Davis Holder.
