Joe B. Hargett, age 88, Russellville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007.
Visitation will be at Spry Memorial Chapel on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, from noon-2 p.m. The 2 p.m. funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Loyd Ray Griffus officiating. Interment will be in Belgreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Sean Hargett, Darron Hood, John Barber, Jimmy Hargett, Steve Taylor and Kenny Hargett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chess and Maggie Hargett; sisters, Lula Johnson, Rena Sumner, Lois Davis, Lurlie Glasgow, Gladys Taylor, Bettie Pursely; and brothers, Hearthel Hargett, Virgil Hargett and Coolidge Hargett.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie Taylor Hargett; sons, Dan J. Hargett and wife, Wanda, of Spartanburg, S.C., Michael B. Hargett and wife, Cindy, of Russellville; grandchildren, Sean Hargett and wife, Caroline, Dr. Danna Hargett, Kimberley Hargett Hood and husband, Darron, Kellyn Hargett and Mialey Hargett; great-grandchildren, Olivia Grace Hood and Eli Heath Hood.
He was a member of Belgreen Baptist Church and a Mason with Masonic Lodge 428. He was a retired machinist from Ford Motor Co. and a World War II Army veteran.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Belgreen Cemetery Fund.
