Cornelia West Patterson, 45, of Landrum, SC, died at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 1954, at Spartanburg General Hospital after seven weeks serious illness.
Born and reared in Campobello, SC; daughter of Sorrels West, Sr. and Mary Alice Durham West; wife of Marvin Christopher Patterson.
Also surviving are a daughter, Dianne Patterson; three sons, Ronald Duran "Ronnie", Hugh Douglas and Kenneth Franklin Patterson; four sisters, Polly Jones, Julia Varner, Catherine Harris and Myrtle Barnett; six brothers, Sam Ray, Jack, Ned, Charner, Furman and Sorrells West .
Predeceased by a son, Robert Steven Patterson (6 Feb 1929 - 2 Apr 1929) and a daughter, Patricia Patterson 12 Oct 1939 - 15 Oct 1939).
Funeral services were conducted at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Sunday, April 4, 1954 at 4:00 p.m., by the Revs. Robert Owens, Broadus Belue and Marshall Barnett. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Wilson, Clifford Scott, Bobby Stott, Paul Giles, Claude Edwards, Talf Edwards. Deacons of the Hickory Grove church formed an honorary escort.
