Loved Garey was the son of George Garey and Hannah Kinney Garey. Loved had an interesting life. He sailed from Newburyport to San Franciso, CA twice. He decided to move to Minn where his friend Benjamin Franklin Buck lived. He got as far as Iowa and decided to stay. His loved one Mary Brewster Nutt met him in Iowa City, Iowa and they were married there March 19, 1859. They farmed in Benton Co, IA where their children were born. Later moved to a farm in Maine Twp, Linn Co, IA north of Marion, IA. They were parents of seven children, George Loved born 10 Aug 1860 died as an infant, Fred Alson, born 23 Aug 1861, Harriet born 10 Oct 1862, Mary Elizabeth aka Minnie born 24 Oct 1863, Fanny Jane born 9 June 1865 and died 27 Sept 1865, Adeline Amelia born 27 1866 and Nellie Eva born 5 March 1868.
Fred, and Harriet died in Dec 1881 and Nellie in Jan 1882 all from Diptheria. His wife, Mary died July 1885. All are buried Oak Shade cemetery, Marion, Linn Co, Iowa.

Loved married again to Harriet Esther Buck on May 16,1894 in Glencoe, MN She was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Buck and Sarah Wadleigh Buck.

Mr. L. Garey died at his home in Glenco, MN Wednesday. (Same day as his daughter Adeline passed away in Marion)
Mr Garey spent the most of his life near Marion, coming west in 1858 and settling in "Wild Cat" neighberhood. He went to Minnesota bout twenty years ago, where he has since made his home. He will be buried there owing to the death of his daughter, Mrs. J. S. Grassfield who also died this week.
