Norman Wayne Partridge was the son and eldest child of Jack Lee Partridge and Alma Daphine May. He married Jeannette Ritchie and they had two daughters.

"Cobb," as he was called, was a helicopter pilot in the 68th Assault Helicopter Company at Bien Hoa Air Base, Republic of Viet Nam. He was killed in action when his helicopter crashed. It was hit by enemy fire while "departing the Landing Zone." He was in country less than three weeks.
