Inscription

This stone is erected
to the memory of
Capt ELIPHALET HOLBROOK
who died
Febry 7 1815
Aged 70 years.
What is the life of man, with all his cares,
Tis like a shade which quickly disappears,
But if that taper GOD allows to men;
Continue burning threescore years and ten;
Yet when 'tis spent and death puffs out its light,
Is like a tale thats told or watch by night.
