|Birth: ||Jun., 1843|
|Death: ||Aug., 1924|
The funeral services of the late Robert George were held in the First Baptist Church of Caro, Sunday morning at 11:00 o'clock, Dr. H.H. Ford officiating. The deceased died at Grand Bay, Alabama, quite suddenly and unexpectedly.
He was born at Bridgewater, Washtenaw Co., Michigan, 81 years ago last June. From there he moved to Kansas where he was married and remained for several years. After some years he returned to Bridgewater, his old home. Eight years afterwards, he moved to Tuscola Co., residing at Caro where he remained more than 20 years. During the past few years he has spent the winters in the south, and the summers in Mich.
The deceased was the father of two children, a boy [Frank] who passed away when but a lad of sixteen, about 25 years ago, and a daughter, Mrs. Lee Darbee, of East Jordan, Michigan.
For more than 60 years the deceased has been a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist church, having identified himself with that Christian body in Kansas. He was well known and greatly beloved in the Caro Baptist Church. The church was crowded with friends and acquaintances who met to pay their last sad rites to this noble servant of God.
He leaves to mourn his loss, an aged wife, who on account of her enfeebled condition was unable to make the long journey from Alabama, a sister, Mrs. I.A. Brangwin, of Caro, and daughter, Mrs. Lee Darbee, of East Jordan, Michigan, and a host of friends. His remains were laid to rest in the Almer Cemetery to await the call of the Faithful and Wise Judge.
