OBITUARY: Buhl, Konrad
Another one called back to the grand Army. The nearly 77 year old Konrad Buhl was found dead with a broken neck Thursday in the cellar of his home. The old man was often subject to attacks of dizziness and during one of them he fell down as he was fetching a basket of turnips from the cellar Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was born 2 Apr 1814 in Stein am Rhein, Switzerland and came to the United States at the beginning of the 50's and moved here in 1858 at the founding of Tell City. During the Civil War he joined the 60th Indiana Volunteer Regiment, was assigned to Company A and was employed as cook. He married three times and leaves his widow, two sons from his first marriage, who likewise took part in the war, 2 step-sons and 2 step-daughters. He was a member of the Frey Post GAR, under whose auspices he will be buried this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the city cemetery. May he rest in peace.
