Zanesville Signal, page two, 26 Apr 1943, Zanesville Signal, page two. Death Comes to Mrs. Mary Hughes. Mrs. Mary E. Hughes, 69, widow of Clarence B. Hughes, of 825 Monroe street, died this morning at her home following a lingering illness. Mrs. Hughes has resided here all her life. She was a member of the First Congregational church and of the Royal Neighbors. Her husband died March 5 of this year. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Harold Wilson of 923 Fernanda street and Miss Hilda Hughes of the home; three granddaughters, Mary Lucille, Nancy and Sylvia Wilson, and two cousins, Ralph Factor and Mrs. Thelma Kehl, both of Zanesville. The body has been removed to the Hearing-Bryan-DeLong funeral home and will be returned to the residence late this afternoon.

Ludlow, pastor of the First Congregational church, and Rev. Russell E. Kauffman officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood. The body has been removed to the residence from the Hearing-Bryan-DeLong funeral home.
