PIONEER NEBRASKA WOMAN BURIED IN CEDAR COUNTY
Crofton, Neb.-Special: Funeral services were held at Menominee, rural church in Cedar County, for Mrs. Kathryn Hoesing, who passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital n Yankton, S.D.
Mrs. Hoesing was born in Westphalia, Germany, in 1847, and came to American when 19 years old and located at St. Helena, in Cedar county. In 1869 she was married at St. Helena and continued to live in Cedar county until the death of her husband, eight years ago. After Mr. Hoesing died, Mrs. Hoesing made her home with a daughter in South Sioux City, and two sons, Edward, at Menominee, and Theodore, in Crofton.
Mrs. Hoesing was the mother of 14 sons and daughters, 11 of whom survive her. They are, John Hoesing, Eagle Butte, S.D.; Henry Hosing, Bowdie, S.D.; Mrs. Barney Witte, Orient, S.D.; William Hoesing, Manning Ia.; Mrs. Joseph Meyer, South Sioux City; Leo Hosing, North Bend, Neb.; Anton Housing, Fordyce; Joseph and Edward Hoesing, Menominee, and Mrs. George Huennekens and Theodore Hoesing, of Crofton. There are 57 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were six grandsons.
