He was the youngest of three children born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Sieber, Sr. He married Miss Grace Elaine Hesseltine at Albany, Missouri, on June 20, 1921, and from that union, a daughter, Betty Jo, was born. Surviving besides his wife, daughter and his parents of Ohiowa, were a brother, Frank J. Sieber, Jr., and a sister, Mrs. E. J. Lynn, both of Omaha, Nebr.
Joseph graduated from Ohiowa High school and attended the University of Nebraska. In Ohiowa, he engaged in the banking business for many years and served as mayor, member of the town board and school board. He moved to Grand Island about 1938. At the time of his death in Grand Island, he was the representative of the real estate division of the Federal Land Bank of Omaha.
