KENNEBUNK - Wilbert C. Hodgdon, 87, of Longview Terrace died Wednesday in a Portland hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Betty Thomas Hodgdon. Born in Wiscasset, he was a son of Frank R. and Carrie Eaton White Hodgdon. He was a retired employee of the Proctor and Gambie Corp., where he worked for more than 40 years. Mr. Hodgdon was a 50-year member and a past master of the Masons in Malden, Mass., a member of the York County Shrine Club, the West Kennebunk Methodist Church and the Alleppo Shrine Temple of Boston. Surviving are his wife of Kennebunk; three sons, Frank E. Hodgdon of Atlanta, Albert L. Hodgdon of Kennebunk and Parker E. Hodgdon of Wilmington, Mass.; a stepson, Thomas L., Thomas of Merrimack, N.H.; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Irma) Burrill of Harrison, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Betsy A. Olson, U.S. Navy, Poulsbo, Wash.; two brothers, L. Percival Hodgdon of Wiscasset and Clifton E. Hodgdon of Lynnfield Center, Mass., and four sisters, Mrs. Harry (Alva) Donnell of Woolwich, Mrs. Phil (Arlene) Tryon of Pownal, Alice Douphinette of Georgetown, Mass., and Mrs. Lowney (Helen) Young of Walnut Creek, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at West Kennebunk United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery.
