Eugene C. Phillips
Eugene C. Phillips, 75, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of the town of Waukesha died Sunday of cancer in a hospital in Boca Raton.
Phillips owned a farm on the south side of Sunset Drive in Waukesha, just west of the Soo Line tracks from 1929 to 1943. he farmed on Highway 59 in Genesee from 1943 to 1967, retiring in 1967 to Florida.
He also had a trucking company that hauled cattle all over Wisconsin and much of the eastern United States.
He belonged to the Genesee United Church of Christ and was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Waukesha. Phillips was active in the Wisconsin and Waukesha Guernsey Breeders Association. He was a member of the Golden Guernsey Cooperative.
Phillips was also an honorary director of the American Automobile Association.
Survivors include wife Elizabeth A. (nee Richards); sons Harold of Genesee and Rodney of Waukesha; brother Harold of Oswego, New York and a sister, Mrs. MIldred Allen of Newark Valley, New York.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Van Valin-Guequirere Funeral Home, Mukwonago. Burial will be in Genesee Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
