Sports Broadcaster. Best known for his work on the popular series "This Week in Baseball". The son of a minister, he was raised in Gainesville, Georgia and grew up listening to the voices of Mel Allen, Red Barber and Ernie Harwell calling baseball games. After graduating from Wake Forest, he served with the US Military during the Vietnam War. His earliest professional coverage can be traced back to the Baltimore Orioles and during the run of the American Basketball Association, he was the play-by-play man with the Virginia Squires which included the era of Julius 'Dr. J' Erving and George Gervin. He went onto call games on the collegiate level with Seton Hall University for twelve years followed by St. John's University. Fusselle will perhaps be best remembered by TV audiences on a national level, as he shared narration duties with his boyhood idol Mel Allen for the weekly program "This Week in Baseball" during the 1980s and 1990s. Beginning in 2001, he was the voice of the New York Mets' Minor League affiliate the Brooklyn Cyclones and was preparing for his twelfth season behind the microphone when he suffered a fatal heart attack. (bio by: C.S.)
