Joshua, Hannah, and the children of both of Hannah's marriages emigrated from Canada to the United States in 1874 and settled in Columbia Township, Tuscola County, Michigan.
Hannah died of cancer there on February 25, 1901 at the age of 77 years, 11 months, and 9 days.
In 1910 Joshua was still living in Columbia Township. Residing with him were his step-daughters, the widowed Margery (Larue) Titmus and Marie Larue.
Joshua died of pneumonia on May 15, 1916 in Columbia Township, Tuscola County, Michigan at the age of 75 years, 9 months, and 20 days.
