George W. Crall Succumbs at Shelby

SHELBY - George W. Crall, 66, of 134 Glenwood Dr., owner of the Shelby Lumber Company died in Shelby Memorial Hospital this morning following an extended illness.

Mr. Crall was born in Shelby Oct. 16, 1909 and had lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Spencerian Business College. In 1931, he became co-owner and manager of the Shelby Lumber Co. and assumed sole ownership of the company in 1970.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Shelby Lodge No. 350 F.&A.M., Shelby Chapter No. 178 R.A.M., the Mansfield Homebuilder's Association, was a charter member of the Sertoma Club, and a longtime member of the Shelby Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Steven (Betty) Butterbaugh of Indianapolis, Ind., and Julie of Hartford, Conn., his mother, Mrs. Rouie Crall of Greenwich, and two brothers, James of Gatesmills and William of Greenwich.

Services will be held at Dye-Finefrock's Saturday at 1 p.m. by Rev. James L. Lumadue, pastor of the First Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or the First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
