Son of William and Margaret Baxter. Came from Westminster, Ontario, Canada, with his wife, Lista C. Lewis. Thomas Baxter Sr., formally a resident of Emporia, died at his home in Garnett this morning. Mr. Baxter had been gone from this town for about 15 years, but members of his family had been residents since that time, and he is widely remembered in the community. His body will be brought to Emporia for burial, arriving tomorrow evening on Santa Fe train number 7. It will be taken at once to Maplewood Cemetery, where short services will be held. A short telegram that came to W. S. Kretsinger today, announced his death.
