Lucy Catherine Covey, 82, of Silverton, Idaho, passed away June 1, 2012 at Silver Wood Good Samaritan in Silverton, Idaho. She was born April 11, 1930 at Pueblo, Colo.; Lucy was the daughter of Harry E. and Kathryn (Patterson) Dudley.
Lucy moved to the Silver Valley in 1951 from Bonner's Ferry, Idaho. She married Gene F. Covey on Feb. 24, 1953 in Pinehurst, Idaho. Gene passed away on Dec. 17, 2005.
Lucy was a homemaker and had also served as an Avon representative for 47 years.
She was a member of the Osburn Community Baptist Church of Osburn. She loved and enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband Gene; Lucy also enjoyed snowmobiling, four-wheeling and gardening. She especially loved attending car shows with her beautiful 1957 Crown Victoria car, which helped her win 87 trophies and awards.
Lucy is survived by three children, Carolyn Corthell of Milwaukie, Ore., Cathy Reese of Las Vegas, Nev. Stan Covey of Lake Coeur d' Alene, Idaho, and 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Bennett of Osburn, Idaho and Berneice Morgen of Hayden, Idaho. Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gene Covey, and two brothers.
Funeral services was held June 8, 2012, at the Osburn Community Baptist Church of Osburn with Rev. Bob Evans and Rev. Paul Hegg officiating. Burial was held at the Osburn Cemetery of Osburn.
