Elizabeth Jane Wright was born March 24, 1834 in Brownstown, Arkansas (Sevier County), daughter of Thomas Bayber Wright (1807-1873) and Mary Ann McClendon (1812-1878).
The 1850 Federal Census for Franklin, Arkansas (Sevier County) shows Elizabeth Wright, age 16, born in Arkansas; living with her father, Thomas Wright, age 42, born in Missouri; and her mother, Mary Ann, age 37, born in Tennessee. Living in the household were Elizabeth's siblings: James Wright, age 20; John Wright, age 18; Asenath Wright, age 14; Martha Wright, age 11; Mary Wright, age 11; Nancy Wright, age 8; Sarah Wright, age 6; and Thomas Wright, age 2; all born in Arkansas. Also living in the household was Thomas Bayber's brother, William Wright, age 51, a farmer, born in Kentucky; and his sons, William Wright, age 18, born in Arkansas; Joseph Wright, age 12, born in Arkansas. Lastly, Thomas Bayber's father, James Walker Wright, age 83, born in North Carolina, was living with the family.
On June 10, 1851 in Sevier County, Arkansas, Elizabeth J. Wright married Hugh McGregor Willson. They ultimately had three children: Minerva Jane Willson (1854-1943); James Earl Willson (1855-1932); and Thomas Benjamin Willson (1856-1917). Hugh was a Canadian, and a physician. He left Arkansas before 1859, first returning to the Niagara, New York area, then finally settling in California, where he died August 15, 1908 in Los Angeles.
On September 15, 1859 in Arkansas, Elizabeth married Samuel Cathy Coble, whose first wife, Elizabeth Looney, had died. Elizabeth and Samuel ultimately had three children: John Hunter Coble (1860-1947); Mary E. Coble (1862-1870); and Sarah Frances Coble (1863- ). Samuel died in Arkansas.
Elizabeth died March 15, 1883 in Ben Lomond, Arkansas (Sevier County) and was buried in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Little River County, Arkansas.
