Dr. George Rene deLaureal was a native of St. Martinville and son of the late Dr. and Mrs. David deLaureal, his father was a native of France and a graduate of the University of Paris. His mother was the former Ceclia Bienvenu.
Dr. deLaureal attended Pulte Medical school in Cincinnati, Ohio and graduated in 1890. He began his medical practice in Greenville, Miss., then onto New Orleans and then to Broussand.
Dr. deLaureal married in 1896 to Miss Marie Ducrest of St. Martinville. Thirteen children were born to this marriage.
Those surviving are his widow, Marie; seven sons, George of Broussand, Todd of Port Arthur, Texas, Dr. Boni J., David and Paul, students at the Louisiana State university medical center, all of New Orleans. Dr. Hugh of Temple, Texas and Howard, ensign in the U. S. Navy; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Celeste Boagni, Jr., of Opalousas, Mrs. Margaret Louise Taylor, of Monroe, and Misses Marie and Carmen of Broussand; two sister, Sister Pierre, St. Louis, Mo and Mrs. Cecile Billington, New Orleans.
