Sarah Belle McGowin, age 84, of Xenia, passed away Monday, June 4, 2012 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born in August 1927 in Xenia, the daughter of Clyde and Mildred (Willett) LaFollette. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John McGowin; brother: Vernon Gail LaFollette; sister: Juanita Bowermeister. She is survived by her nephews and nieces: Ray (Pat) LaFollette of Xenia; Larry LaFollette of Xenia; Jay (Donna) LaFollette of New Carlisle, OH; Sandy Bandy of WA; Gary (Elaine) Bowermeister and Kenneth Bowermeister, both of FL; step-son: Johnny McGowin of Memphis, TN; daughter-in-law: Cathy McGowin and grandson, Christopher McGowin, both of Nevada; as well as numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews. She was retired from the DP&L Co. where she had been employed as a secretary. She had also worked at the Children's Home in Tampa, FL and Appling County MRDD in Georgia. She will be remembered as a caring and loving lady. She will be interred with her husband 10:30 Monday, June 11, 2012 at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.
