William Henry Clewell was born 06 Jun 1833 in Pennsylvania; one of six children born to John Jesse and Anna M. (Kuhn) Clewell.
William was united in marriage with Catherine Boehm; daughter of William and Henrietta Boehm.
William served his country during the Civil War, enlisting in Company A, 153rd Pennsylvania Infantry.
According to the 1860 census William was employed as a Machinist. In 1900 he was listed as a Lead Machinist and in 1910 he was listed as a Tool Maker, self owned company.
William and Catherine were the parents of one child:
1. Dr. Clarence Henry (1868-1907)
Son Clarence, physician, passed away 18 Dec 1907 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of 39 years. He was laid to rest in West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Catherine passed away 30 Nov 1910 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of 81 years. She was laid to rest in West Laurel Hill Cemetery with her son.
William passed away 24 Apr 1913 in Philadelphia at the age of 79 years. He was laid to rest in West Laurel Hill Cemetery with Catherine and son Clarence.
