Helton, Mary Ellen Loposser – passed away on June 5, 2012 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center at the age of 82. Mrs. Helton was born in Sevier County on October 16, 1929. Mrs. Helton loved shopping and will always be remembered as a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all, as well as, a great seamstress, a cake decorator extraordinaire and an excellent cook. She was famous for her Chicken-n-Dumplings and her even more famous Fried Apple Pies. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John and Elza Loposser; brothers, Leonard, Lester, Sam and Andy Loposser; sister, Anna Lee Arwood; her daughter in-law, Vena Rhea Helton, and step great-grandson, Blake Maples.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, John H. Helton; her son, Blennie Helton and wife Geneva; her grandson, Bryan Helton; step-grandsons Doug and Stacy Maples; her brothers, Clyde and Jake Loposser; and her sister, Josie Galyon, and many very special Nieces and Nephews. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Highland South Funeral Home, 9010, East Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 9 a.m at Highland South Memorial Park with Reverend Ken Stansberry officiating
