Services for Frances H. Boone will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, November 11th, from George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel with Rev. Dan Camp and Rev. David Hollis officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Boone died on Saturday, November 6, at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
A Native of Blytheville, AR, she was the daughter of the late Vivian Garner and Stella Rogers Holland. She moved to Jackson in 1951 with her husband of 57 years Sanford Boone and established Boone Laundry and Cleaners. She was educated at Arkansas State University, University of North Carolina and received a master's in library science from Louisiana State University. Mrs. Boone worked in the Jackson City School System as Jackson Central Marry High School Librarian from 1960 until she retired in 1983.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Dick Nunn Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Boone is survived by her two daughters, Becky Lane and husband Harry of Jackson and Susan Sigman and husband Bob of North Palm Beach, Florida; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Rebecca Lane, two sisters, Hilda Caldwell and Vivian Whittington and her husband, Sanford Boone.
Grandchildren serving as pallbearers will be Rob Sigman, Drs. Tim and Elizabeth Sigman, Holly Schmitt, Harry and Alison Lane III.
The Family has requested that memorials be directed to First United Methodist Church.
