Charles Leslie Slye, 72, of Stanley, died on Monday, June 4, 2012, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 16, 1940, in Harrisonburg, and was a son of the late Charles Corbin Slye and Nannie Dearing Slye.

On March 31, 1963, he married the former Julia Marie Lucas, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Jeffrey Todd Slye of Luray, and Charles Edward Slye of Stanley; a brother, Kenneth Slye of Florida; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Lewis Slye; and two sisters, Geneva Baugher and Merle Merica Stephens.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 7, at the Mount Carmel Regular Baptist Church, by Pastor Buddy L. Caviness. Burial will be in the Leaksville Cemetery, in Luray.

The family received friends from 7 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, at the Bradley Funeral Home.
