Marriage record revealed John Gobeli and Ida Schaene married on Jan 10, 1903 in Mahoning Co, Ohio. John was 28 and born in Switzerland. His parents were Daniel Gabeli and Elizabeth Trachsel. Ida was 17 and born in Kentucky. Her parents were Fred Shaeni and Catharine Grasenberger.

The 1910 census revealed they were living in Lexington, Stark Co, Ohio. They had been married 7 years had 2 children both still living. Household members: John Gobeli (36), Ida (25), Elizabeth C (5), Marie F (2) and Fred Kratzer (24).

The 1920 census revealed they were living in Knox, Columbiana Co, Ohio. Household members: John Gobeli (45), Ida (34), Elizabeth K (14), Freda M (11) and Olive L (7).

The 1930 census revealed they were living in Alliance, Stark Co, Ohio. Household members: John Gobeli (56), Ida (44), Elizabeth (25), Marie (22) and Olive (17).

The 1940 census revealed they were living on East Milton Street. Their daughter Katherine Hoffman and her husband were living with them. Household members: John Gobeli (66), Ida (54), Walter Hoffman (37), Katherine E Hoffman (35).

[[MRS. IDA GOBELI LOHR

Mrs. Ida Gobeli Lohr, 83, of W. Summit St. died yesterday at 11:20 A.M. at the Bel Air Nursing Home following an illness of six years.
Born at Bernstadt, Ky., June 9, 1885, she was the daughter of the late John Frederick and Katharina Grossenbacher Schoeni.

She was a member of the First Immanuel United Church of Christ, the Ladies Aid Society of the church, Alliance Woman's Club and a 50 year member of the Mile Branch Grange.

Her survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Walter Hoffman and Mrs. Russell Brogan, both of Alliance; a brother, J. Frederick Schoeni of Beloit; three step-sons; a step-daughter; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Cline preceded her in death in 1958; her first husband, John G. Gobeli in Nov. 1943 and her second husband, Marshall Lohr, in August 1967.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Walton - Schrader Funeral Home with Rev. William Ring officiating. Burial will be in Alliance City Cemetery.

Calling hours will be tomorrow from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.]]
