ANTHONY F. KRAUSE AND WILHELMINA WERNER


Anthony F. Krause was born about 1824 in Germany. His parents were born in Germany but their names are currently unknown.

Wilhelmina Werner was born in Germany on 23 July between 1827-1829. (Conflicting dates on several records.)

The 1894 St. Clair, Michigan State census, City of Port Huron, Ward 3, household Conkey, Arthur; Arthur's wife Minnie Krousey (Krause) daughter of Anthony and Wilhelmina Krause stated her parents were born in Saxony, Germany.

Wilhelmina's parents were Carl Werner and Anna Mittletsie. Both were born in Germany.

Anthony married Wilhelmina Werner, the place and date is currently unknown.

The first record found shows they immigrated to the United States in 1847.

In 1848-49 North America had a cholera epidemic. In 1850-51 there was an influenza epidemic while the U.S. also suffered a nationwide yellow fever epidemic in 1850-52.

Wilhelmina "Minnie" C. Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina, 11 October 1851 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.

Lewis Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina on 15 January between 1853 and 1858 in New York. (Conflicting dates on several records.)

Emma B. Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina 17 April 1855 in Exeter, Otsego County, New York.

In 1855 there was a nationwide yellow fever epidemic.

Amelia Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina about 1859 in Canada.

Anna L. Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina on 9 October sometime between 1860 and 1871 in Mitchell, Ontario, Canada.

Edward A. Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina on 25 December sometime between 1866 and 1870 in Canada.

William Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina in May sometime between 1868 and 1870 in Canada.

Pauline Krause was born to Anthony and Wilhelmina in March sometime between 1871 and 1873 in Port Huron, St. Clair County, Michigan.

Wilhelmina Krousey (Krause) married Capt. Arthur M. Conkey in 1872 probably in Port Huron, Michigan. The late Rev. J. S. Hoyt of the First Congregational Church preformed the marriage ceremony.

Emma B. Krause was married to William May sometime prior to 1877 probably in Port Huron, Michigan.

The 1880 St. Clair County, Michigan, 4th Ward, Port Huron census, page 394A, dwelling #312, family number 325, dated 14 June 1880 listed head of household Antonie Krouse (Krause). He is listed as a white male, age (prior to June 1, 1880) 56, occupation was tanner, he was born in Germany and his parents were born in Germany. His wife, Wilhelmina Krouse (Krause), was listed as a white female, age 50, a housekeeper born in Germany whose parents were born in Germany. Also listed were three sons and two daughters as follows: Lew Krouse (Krause), a white male, age 27, single, his occupation was a teamster, born in New York. Amelia Krouse (Krause), white, female, age 21, daughter, single, born in Canada. Edward Krouse (Krause), a white male, age 13, single, in school, born in Canada. William Krouse (Krause), a white male, age 12, single, in school, born in Canada. Pauline Krouse (Krause), a white female, age 9, single, in school, born in Michigan. They all lived at 312 7th Street, Port Huron, Michigan.

Anthony Krause died in February 1887 at age 63 in Port Huron, Michigan. He was buried on 28 February 1887 in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, St. Clair County, Michigan. The Anthony Krause burial site (Block F, Lot 28) does not have any tombstones for the Krause family members buried there. (I have been unable to locate a death certificate or obituary for Anthony Krause.)

Pauline Krause, age 21, married John W. Benline, age 29, in St. Clair County, Michigan, according to county record Book 4, Volume 2, 24 February 1892.

Edward A. Krause married Esther Hannah Nelson prior to April 1895. Currently unable to locate where and when they were married.

1900 St. Clair County, Michigan, Port Huron City census, dated 4 June 1900, ED 101, house number 908, dwelling number 81, family number 83 list Minnie (Wilhelmina) Krousie (Krause) head of household, white, female, born July 1828, age 71, widow, mother of 12 children, number of these living 7, born in Germany, parents born in Germany, year of immigration to US 1857,? number of years in US 43, can read, write, and speak English, rent home; Louis Krousie (Krause), son, white male, born January 1859, age 42, single, born in New York, parents born in Germany, occupation boilermaker, number of months unemployed 0, can read, write and speak English; William Krousie (Krause) son, white, male, born May 1870, age 30, single, born in Canada, parents born in Germany, year of immigration to US 1872, number of years in US 28, NA, occupation, boilermaker, number of months unemployed 0, can read, write and speak English; Annie Krousie (Krause), daughter, white, female, born October 1871, age 28, single, born in Canada, parents born in Germany, year of immigration to US 1872, number of years in US 28, occupation, artist, number of months unemployed 0, can read, write and speak English. Lived at 908 9th Street, Port Huron, Michigan.

Wilhelmina Krause died 5 May 1903 . The cause of her death Chronic Nephritis. Buried in Lakeside Cemetery, F28, Port Huron, Michigan. No tombstone.

Mrs. Wilhelmina Krause, aged 75 years, died Tuesday night at the family residence 1807? White Street. The funeral will be held from the house at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. She leaves seven grown-up children.

Pauline Krause Benline died in the hospital 13 July 1908 in the city of Port Huron, Michigan, age 35 years 4 months 12 days. Her death was caused by Cirrhosis of the Liver. She is buried in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, Michigan, F28. No tombstone.

Pauline Benline

Pauline, wife of John Benline, died at the hospital this morning, aged 35 years. The funeral will be held from the residence, corner Eighth and Griswold Streets, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Pauline is buried at Lakeside Cemetery. She leaves a husband and one daughter.

William Krause died 29 September 1918 in Port Huron, Michigan, age 48, 4 months, 7 days. The cause of his death was Anemia. Buried in the Lakeside Cemetery F28 grave 4. No tombstone.

William Krause

William Krause, age 48, died at his home 1?14 Scot Street Sunday evening after a lingering illness. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Louis and Edward and Miss Ann a Krause, Mrs. Arthur Conkey and Mrs. William May, all of this city. The funeral will be held from the family residence Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment was at Lakeside cemetery.

Wilhelmina "Minnie" C. Krause Conkey died 27 April 1928 in Port Huron, Michigan, age 76 years, 6 months, 17 days. The cause of her death was Cerebral Hemorrhage. She is buried in Lakeside Cemetery, F27, grave 2. Minnie and her husband Arthur Martin Conkey have a nice tombstone.

Anna L. Krausie (Krause) died 15 May 1930 in Port Huron, Michigan, age 69, 7 months, 6 days. The cause of her death was Paralysis. She is buried in Lakeside Cemetery, F28 grave 8. No tombstone.

Miss Anna Krausie Dies in Home Here

Miss Anna L. Krausie, 69, portrait painter, died today in her home, 759 Water Street, after an illness of several weeks.

She was born in Michell, Ont. October 9, 1861, and is survived by two brothers, Lewis Krausie (Krause) Port Huron; and Edward Krausie, (Krause) Ashtabula, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. William May, Port Huron.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday in Falk's funeral residence. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Lewis Krause died 23 February 1932 in Port Huron, Michigan, age 79 years, 1 month, 8 days. The cause of his death was Pneumonia Hypostatic. She is buried in Lakeside Cemetery, F28 grave 3. No tombstone.

Lewis Krause, 74 Dies In Hospital

Lewis Krause, 74 was a lifelong resident of Port Huron, died today in Port Huron hospital. He is survived by a sister Mrs. Emma May, Port Huron, and a brother Edward Krause, Ashtabula, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Falk's funeral residence. Dr. W. W. McKee pastor of First Methodist Episcopal church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.

Emma B. Krause May died 25 March 1939 at her home 1110 Lapeer Avenue, Port Huron, Michigan, age 83 years, 11 months, 18 days. The cause of her death was Mitral Regurgitation. Buried beside her husband William May in Lakeside Cemetery F10, grave 2. Emma and William have a nice tombstone.

Edward A. Krause died 14 October 1960 at the residence of his daughter Louise Krause Rennick, 14926 Terrace Road, East Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He was age 91 years his last birthday. The cause of his death was Cerebral Thrombosis. He was cremated and buried at Highland Park Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
